Junior Project & Events Manager

The Women4Cyber Foundation is offering a challenging and interesting full-time junior position with real development opportunities in order to help carry out its activities.

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Women4Cyber Foundation Secretary-General and Supervisor, the junior manager will carry out project and event-related activities of the Women4Cyber initiative. The junior manager will contribute to the implementation of EU projects and partnerships of the Women4Cyber Foundation, as well as provide support to the organisation of events.

    • Fixed-term contract (initial 1 year)
    • Location: Brussels (hybrid; 1-2 days remote/week) 
    • Starting Date: September 2023 (as soon as possible)

The junior manager will provide support to the following tasks:

    • EU project management: Coordinate Women4Cyber’s participation in two Erasmus+ projects (to start Q3 2023), including implementation of core tasks and organisation of workshops, attending meetings and liaising with the project coordinator, linking project activities to the work of the Foundation, and supporting the communication & dissemination of project outcomes. The junior manager will also be expected to support the W4C financial department in developing the project financial reports (and timesheets where applicable).
    • Implementation of partnerships: Support the Operational Manager in implementing key strategic partnerships of the Foundation, including the delivery of specific projects, platforms, or initiatives. The junior manager will be expected to ensure the delivery of tasks in an organised and efficient manner, develop KPIs, and report to partnering entities and the W4C Board on progress (with a focus on quantifying the impact of the work as it relates to the representation of women in cybersecurity education and professions).
    • Event management: Support the preparation of Women4Cyber internal and external events (book venues, identify and contact speakers, deal with logistics arrangements, prepare meeting material); prepare reports or minutes of meetings.
    • Communication: Support the preparation and launch of social media campaigns undertaken by W4C as it pertains to his/her projects and partnerships; proactively suggest innovative ideas to engage the W4C community and improve the visibility of the W4C Foundation.
    • Roadmap of Actions and other tasks: Support the implementation of concrete actions under the W4C Roadmap of Actions; help identify fundraising opportunities or partnerships; contribute to other ad-hoc tasks occurring in the daily work of the Foundation or as requested by the Operational Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements:

    •  Have around 1 to 2 years of experience working in Brussels or in an international environment (think tank, NGO, membership-based association, EU Institutions), as well as experience working with EU projects and / or events
    • Proven interest in or previous exposure to cybersecurity and/or gender-inclusive policies & initiatives
    • Experience in fundraising and stakeholder engagement a strong plus
    • Proactive, flexible and being a self-starter are important prerequisites. The ideal candidate should be able to work under minimum supervision and possess a certain dose of critical thinking and creativity
    • Excellent English verbal & written communication skills. Knowledge of French is a plus
    • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines
    • IT-skills: Advanced use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel), knowledge of Photoshop, Canva and / or other graphic design tools a plus
    • EU/EEA citizen or in possession of a valid work permit to work in Europe

Communications Assistant

The Women4Cyber Foundation offers a challenging and interesting full-time (remunerated) traineeship position with real development opportunities in order to help carry out its activities.

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the W4C Secretary-General and Managers, the trainee will implement and carry out the activities of the Women4Cyber initiative.
The trainee will provide support to content-based communication, the communication and marketing strategy, and fundraising/promotional activities of the Women4Cyber Foundation.

    • Initial 6-month traineeship
    • Location: Brussels (hybrid: 1-2 days remote/week)
    • Starting Date: September (as soon as possible)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

The trainee will provide support to the following tasks:

    • Communication: Work on the Foundation’s communication & marketing strategy; create engaging content and closely monitor the W4C social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram); create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and marketing materials; support the preparation of the quarterly newsletter (which includes updates and research on articles, videos and events); edit videos in Canva and Adobe Premiere; prepare targeted campaigns for the W4C initiatives; support the preparation and launch of the campaigns undertaken by W4C; proactively suggest innovative ideas to engage the W4C community and improve the visibility of the W4C Foundation.
    • Fundraising & monitoring: Help identify fundraising opportunities or partnerships; support stakeholder management activities; monitor progress/KPÏs of specific partnerships and events.
    • Event management: Support the preparation of Women4Cyber internal and external events and meetings (book venues, deal with logistics arrangements, prepare meeting material under supervision); prepare minutes of meetings.
    • Administration: Update & manage the Women4Cyber database and distribution lists on a daily basis; reply to requests from community members on an ad hoc basis; draft emails.

Requirements:

    • Have a background or experience in communications
    • Have around 1 to 2 years of experience working in a similar role and European/international environment
    • Proven interest in cybersecurity
    • Experience in fundraising and stakeholder engagement is a strong plus
    • Proactive, flexible and independent are important prerequisites
    • Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines
    • Quick, clear and concise drafting and reporting skills
    • Excellent English verbal & written communication skills
    • IT skills: Advanced use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
    • Visual Design Skills: Proficiency in visual design tools, such as Canva. Knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a plus
    • EU/EEA citizen or in possession of a valid work permit to work in Europe
